According to the automobile publication "Motoring", working at the Green Continent, Ford's Asia Pacific development center based in Victoria, is deeply engrossed in the process of creating the new model, at that, the first prototypes are tested. The rumor mill says that a platform with ladder frame type design of the next generation of the Ranger was taken for the new Ford Bronco, however, its shortened and modified version is used in the SUV.
As for powertrains of the SUV, Ford's engine mechanics will offer the 4- and 5-cylinder diesel engines, working in tandem with manual and automatic transmissions and a low range transfer case. It is possible that some markets will be offered the modification with a gasoline V6 EcoBoost engine.
